Getting my point across-you gone learn taday!!

For anyone on the outside looking in who has never had to deal with kids, meaning youra or someone else's its so easy to say what you will and will not do. Ive heard a many a times you'll see when you get your own. Dont get it twisted, I completely understand that logic. What I dont understand is when it comes to respect or lack there of. I have watched from within the game and the sideline how this new generation is quick to get out of pocket. One thing that i have noticed is that now a days parents do EVERYTHING for their children. I couldnt pay my parents to take me and my friends anywhere or pick us up. I had to tom and jerry it (on foot), ride a bike, catch a ride or use public transportation. When I did get my own car, the rule was idc who paid for or pays for it, the first time i see a bunch of ninjas in it it will be parked. Also, chores is another issue. How do you complain about cleaning your room or the bathroom or the kitchen when my friends and myself had to clean our WHOLE houses and cook and do laundry? But, back to the respect issue. I have it double because not only am I dealing with a preteen, I am dealing with one that is not mine. Now, I treat all children the same. I will laugh, joke, do anything for you, but dont cross the respect line. My granny always said you play with a puppy and one day they will turn around and bite you. Now, the one that I am dealing with comes with a WHOLE lot of baggage and disfunction. Try to be patient and lienient on some things but there is a line. Umm maybe only in my mind because she doesnt think so. Well she gone learn TADAY. yeah Taday and not today. So, long story short im with some neighbors she comes by I tell her to go back and do something before coming out she rolls her eyes and keep going. I repeat myself she comes back smacks lips, rolls eyes allat. My neighbor say uh uhn why you giving her attitude? She says because I DONT LIKE HER!!!. Ummm, say wha? Needless to say there were some things that took place. I personally dont feel like it was enuff, but SHE GONE LEARN TADAY!!!See I see it like this: my money is being spent decently. School starts in 2 weeks. Lets see how much she likes wearing last years clothes and not getting her hair done. Lets see how she likes that. You can call it childish you can call it whatever you want. But you see I dont reward bad behavior. And of all the things that could happen: no phone, punishments, no computer, no game systems, hanging out with friends etc. Nothing hurts worse than your first day of middle school, wanting boys attention and for them to look at you and what your mama call a nice shape so you can show it off, than that lil ponytail and clothes that all your friends know you were wearing last year. Yup thats my punishment. nothing beats embarrassmenet. YOU GONE LEARN TADAY!!! I have been kind and patient, but if you wanna see the HULK that you've heard about now you gotem.

kids say the darnest things

While this was not my original post, I had to post this. An 11 and 9 year old were having a conversation and it went like this: 9: Did u hear about Ushers son? 11: yeah, he was killed on a jet ski. 9: No, it was suppose to be an accident, but Usher was a part of the illumanati nd he didnt wwant to be a part of it anymore and tried to get out. When they didnt want to let him go they decided to kill him on the jet ski but got his son instead. 11: I dont know about all of that. i just know he was killed on a jet ski. me: O_o thinking what the hell you know about the Illuminati?

way to go Gabby!

I thought long and hard about posting on this. First, I will start off by saying congratualtions to this young lady. To me Gabby Douglas is amazing. To me she is awesome. At this age I have seen so many young girls struggle with finding themselves and trying to fit in. This young sista is living out her dreams, and breaking and setting records. I know her family is proud and so is everyone in the Hampton Roads area. I can only image the sacrifices made by herself and her family. Sometime you have to make those sacrifices for the bigger picture. Now onto those who are talking about this baby hair: first, how can you all speak on something as minute as her hair with all she has accomplished in the Olympics this year? Second, who in the hell is worried about hair when youre out there doing flips and sweating? Third, have you ever thought that spending the last few years in Iowa with a non-black family it may be a little hard finding someone to nuture and take care of her hair? and Fourth, WTF? i mean seriously? she has dont more in your short sixteen years than most have done in their entire lives! And all you can think on is her hair? how shallow is that? thats some ol hood, ghetto, ass backwards, crabs in a barrel
mentality! where do you draw the line between joking and cruelty? some where innocent jokes im sure, but others were just plain cruel. I really hope that the negativity does not stop her or affect her. GOOD JOB GABRIELLE!!!!! Do not let the haters get to you. keep doing you and staying focused. oh and lets not forget the williams sisters for doing their thing winnning the doubles gold1
